Position Summary The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) for Women's Health will be the primary role to provide comprehensive, student-centered care focused on women's health issues for students within a collegiate environment. The ANP in the Student Health Clinic will also provide primary care, preventive services, and health education to university students, faculty, and staff. The ANP will focus on delivering comprehensive healthcare in a collaborative environment addressing a wide range of health concerns from acute illnesses to chronic conditions, mental health, and wellness promotion. This role plays a critical part in promoting student health, well-being, and academic success through quality care and preventative health services. Working within the Student Health Clinic, the ANP will assess, diagnose, and treat a range of gynecological, reproductive, and preventive health concerns specific to the student population. This role involves collaborative care with other healthcare professionals, patient education, and promoting overall wellness among the student body. Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide clinical services and treatment for UCA students, faculty, and staff as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. Work within the approved protocols established for the Student Health Center. Provide high-quality healthcare services including the following: Accessible and available health services, education of and effective communication with those served concerning the diagnosis and treatment of their medical conditions, appropriate preventive measures, and use of the healthcare system, treatment that is consistent with clinical impressions and working diagnosis, continuity of care, appropriate, accurate, and complete medical record entries, adequate and appropriate transfer of information when clients are referred to another healthcare provider. Assess current or potential health hazards and current health status, including analysis of health behavior related to lifestyle and culture. Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care utilizing sound clinical judgements based on assessment of the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, societal, and environmental needs of the clients. Assist individuals to assume responsibility for the prevention of illness and the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Consult, refer, and collaborate with other disciplines involved in the delivery of total client care. Utilize the resources of the University community and the surrounding community. Promote collegial relationships with other clinical staff and providers in the community. Demonstrate evidence of continuing professional growth by involvement in peer review and the review of protocols and procedures; participate in or design and conduct research and continuing education. Attend SHC staff meetings and in-services. Demonstrate awareness of legislative issues relating to nursing practice and healthcare. Participate in community education and other professional activities. Serve as a role model for students. Participate in an appropriate emergency response system in conjunction with UCA Police Department. Participate in an infection control program in conjunction with other appropriate university offices and departments. Develop and assure appropriate follow-up on all referrals. Maintain a positive relationship with the University Physician. Delegate tasks as appropriate to Licensed Practical Nurses, ancillary staff, and Clinical Assistants as allowed by Arkansas Nurse Practice Act. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Clinical/direct care. Required Education and/or Experience Must be licensed as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing in accordance with ACA 17-87-303, and must have prescription privileges in the State of Arkansas. Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing is required.
