Position: Physician's Assistant / Associate or Nurse Practitioner (Primary Care discipline)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3PM-11PM
Location: Norfolk City Jail, Norfolk, VA
Pay Rate: Starts at $125,000; salary increases, commensurate with experience
Responsibilities:
- Conduct H&Ps, make diagnoses, and order appropriate treatment
Maintain quality assurance standards through thoroughness and completeness of tasks
Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, medical personnel, and corrections staff
Preserve confidentiality of patient medical information/history
Promote good working relationships among staff and between other disciplines and departments
Provide leadership to other staff
Lead by example in support of excellence in patient care
Participate in medical activities that promote growth and development of professional medical staff and/or patient care
Respond in a professional manner to changes; motivate staff to work as a team; and, accept grow from constructive criticism
Participate in Call-by-Phone Coverage rotation as assigned
Qualifications
Licensed in Virginia as Physician's Assistant or Associate, APRN/CNS, or equivalent. Certified in a Primary Care discipline (e.g., FNP, AGNP, PA-C Family Medicine or Internal Medicine)
Must hold or be willing to obtain DEA Registration and any other controlled substance registration required by the jurisdiction of practice
Must hold current CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved) prior to start date
