Advanced Practice Provider - Univ Neurocritical Care

Position Summary:

The NeuroCritical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary critical care team, providing comprehensive care for patients with acute neurological and neurosurgical conditions. This full-time night position offers the opportunity to practice in a high-acuity, 24-bed NeuroCritical Care Unit managing complex cases including stroke, seizures, neuromuscular disorders, and post-operative neurosurgical patients.

Responsibilities:

• Perform focuses neurological and systemic assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and develop comprehensive care plans.
• Manage critically ill patients with physician collaboration, including ventilator management, hemodynamic support, and neurological monitoring.
• Perform procedures as credentialed (eg. Central line and arterial line insertion)
• Participate in handoffs, rapid responses and ongoing quality improvement initiatives
• Provide education to nursing and medical staff, patients, and families regarding disease processes and management.

Position Qualification:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA)

• Current TN licensure (or eligibility)

• National certification as an NP or PA-C required

• Prior neurocritical care, critical care or neurology experience preferred but not required.

New graduates with strong critical care background will be considered.

Shift and Schedule:

• Fulltime nightshift position (12 hour shifts, rotating weekend and holidays)
