Neurosurgery Surgical OR- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with First Assist- Piedmont Athens Hospital

Piedmont Healthcare is recruiting for an Advanced Practice Provider to join an established Neurosurgery practice at Piedmont Athens Hospital. This position is full-time, 5 days a week, including rotations with partnered APP's for weeknight and weekend call.

In this role you will:

• Assist with Hospital Rounds, and surgical support
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations and record data in patients medical record in ambulatory practice. Clinical responsibilities require thorough attention to detail.
• Evaluate and treat patients to achieve optimal patient care.
• Write progress notes; prepare patient work-ups and summaries noting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Develop plans of care that minimize complications and successfully troubleshoot problems when they arise. Apply preventative and alternative treatment strategies for possible procedural complications.
• Complete pre-op appointments for all surgical patients, work with supervising physician to ensure all required labs, clearances and testing is satisfactorily complete well before surgery.
• Manage first call on a rotating basis, typically one 3 day weekend in 6 and 2-4 additional weeknight call shifts per month
