On an as-needed basis, this Advanced Practice Provider will join Cedar City Hospital Labor & Delivery, supporting patients in Cedar City, Utah. We provide comprehensive obstetric care for women, with a particular emphasis on wellness and patient choice. We support women in their childbirth decisions and experience. This APP's primary function will be to provide first assist surgical support for c-sections. This is a PRN opportunity, with variable hours worked based on patient care needs and the APP's availability. Prior surgical experience is highly valued. Job Essentials Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. APP's are licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as: Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease; Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation; Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems; Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others; Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan; Consultation with other healthcare providers; Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care; Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes. Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization. Minimum Qualifications Current state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN), Physician Assistant (PA), or Nurse Midwife (CNM) - and - Certification as a Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. - and - Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V. - and - Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V. - and - BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.
