Not provided Locum tenens Physician Assistant opportunity in Neurosurgery (Cooperstown, NY) 12-month coverage from 06/29/2026 to 06/29/2027 with possible extension. Clinical-only hospital position supporting a busy neurosurgery service (adult/geriatric population) with a typical Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. No required call; optional compensated call is available. Clinical scope and volume Mixed neurosurgical practice: ~80% spine, ~20% cranial, elective-driven volume with admissions, rounding, and phone consults. Duties include first-assist in surgery, OR assistance, suturing, wound aspirations, minor bedside procedures, inpatient rounding, clinic evaluations, and outpatient responsibilities. Team, facility, and systems Work with 3 full-time neurosurgery attendings and an APP who covers evenings/weekends; formal sign-out provided. EMR: Epic. Coverage requested as supplemental support/urgent need. Privileges, credentialing, and compliance Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges TBD. Typical credentialing timeline ~120 days; expedited credentialing requested. Qualifications NCCPA certification required; active NY license and DEA preferred. BLS required. Neurosurgery and spine experience preferred; comfortable assisting in OR, clinic, and inpatient settings. Proficiency with Epic EMR preferred.
