Overview:
A hospital-based opportunity is available for a Physician Assistant to provide surgical first assist and inpatient floor coverage. This role involves working closely with surgeons across multiple specialties in both the operating room and medical-surgical floor settings.

Compensation:

$150/hr

Assignment Details:

Start: July 27, 2026
Ongoing coverage
Full-time coverage needed beginning September

Schedule:

Tuesday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PM (primary schedule)
Flexible schedule options available during select dates
Optional call:
1 2 weekends per month (Friday 5:00 PM Monday 7:00 AM)
Weeknight call: 4 shifts per month (5:00 PM 7:00 AM)
Weekend rounding: Saturday Sunday, 8:00 AM 12:00 PM

Practice Details:

Setting: Hospital-based (OR and medical-surgical floor)
EMR: Epic
Patient Population: Adult
Facility Size: 100+ beds
Multidisciplinary team including surgeons, anesthesia, nursing staff, and APPs

Responsibilities:

Surgical first assist in the operating room
Perform wound care, suturing, and hemostasis
Assist with patient positioning, suction, and intraoperative support
Provide inpatient rounding and progress notes
Manage orders, discharges, and consults

Case Mix:

General Surgery
OB/GYN
Orthopedics

Requirements:

Active New York License Required
BLS, ACLS, and ATLS Required
Minimum 2 years of recent surgical experience Required
Robotics experience Required
Epic experience Required

Credentialing:

Must be fully licensed prior to submission
