Position Description
Employees in this position are responsible for augmenting a supervising physician's data gathering abilities to reach
decisions and institute patient care plans. Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of a Physician.

Major/Essential Functions
- Provide clinical support to physician.
- Assess, plan implement and evaluate clinical needs of patients.
- Assist with consults and admissions.
- Assist with rounds ( Writing notes, orders, wound care, etc.}
- Write discharge orders and dictate discharge notes.
- Provide in-patient and out-patient care.
- Provide wide variety of surgical procedures.
- Collaborate and serve as liaison between providers, consultants and medical staff.
- Participate in outreach and educational events.
- Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).
- Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.

Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a Physician Assistant's training program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education Accreditation of the American Medical Association.
- Current Physician Assistant license in the State of Texas or ability to transfer license to Texas.
- Certification as a Physician Assistant as evidenced by passing the examinations given by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
- OR Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a nurse practitioner from an approved certification program recognized by Texas Board of Nursing.
- Current R.N. license as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer license to Texas.
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an approved certification program as recognized by Texas Board of Nursing or ability to transfer certification to Texas.
