Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-8:00 PM, and Saturday-Sunday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Schedule includes evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays as needed.

Position Summary

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our DeSoto, TX urgent care team. This role is ideal for clinicians who value variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact while practicing in a fast-paced, well-supported urgent care environment.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting

Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits

Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging

Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing, wound care, splinting, and incision and drainage, as applicable

Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions

Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR

Code and bill services appropriately

Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks

Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values

Required Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Nurse Practitioner: FNP certification required through ANCC or AANP

Physician Assistant: NCCPA certification required

Active DEA license or ability to obtain

Ability to treat patients of all ages

Active BLS certification

EHR proficiency

Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, rotating weekends, and holidays as needed

DOT certification required or willingness to obtain; fees covered

Preferred Qualifications

Prior urgent care, emergency medicine, or fast-track experience

Strong procedural skills, including suturing, splinting, wound care, and incision and drainage

Experience with initial x-ray interpretation prior to radiology over-read
