Correctional Nurse Practitioner
Location: London, OH 43140
Shift: Standard Shift (Monday--Friday, 08:00--17:00)
Duration: Initial 6-month assignment (may be extended based on need and mutual agreement)
Job Description:
We are seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner licensed in Ohio with at least one year of NP experience in a primary care setting or hospital medicine to provide on-site services to the male population.
Role & Responsibilities:
Monitor and manage chronic illnesses in accordance with ODRC policies and protocols
Administer vaccinations and treat acute and chronic conditions, including minor surgical procedures within scope of training
Conduct physical exams and diagnose new conditions
Evaluate and refer patients for specialty consultations, reviewing and approving reports
Order and interpret lab tests, X-rays, and other diagnostics
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) on medical reclassification and non-formulary medication requests
Provide both scheduled and emergency medical care
Make infirmary rounds as needed
Document assessments, treatment plans, and follow-ups according to ODRC and ACA standards
Accept feedback and guidance from the CMO and medical oversight team
Skills/Requirements:
Education: Master's Degree required.
Experience: At least one year of NP experience in primary care or hospital medicine.
Licensing: Current Ohio Nurse Practitioner License.
Certifications:
Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner License
Board Certification (e.g., ANCC Certificate for nurses)
DEA Certification
Healthcare-provider level BLS/CPR certification
