Job Description
Florida Health Care Plans, a large multi-specialty staff model HMO is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, (PMHNP) to join our Edgewater Team located at 239 N. Ridgewood Avenue. Office hours are flexible, outpatient only, no weekends. Some of our larger multi-specialty hubs offer Behavioral Health, Diabetes Education, EHCC Walk In, Endocrinology, Lab, Primary Care, Pharmacy, Ultrasound, Bone Density, Wound Care, and X-ray all onsite.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner
- Currently holds a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license
- Experience in Addiction and Mental Health
- Motivational Interviewing experience
- Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or substance abuse dual diagnoses.
- Treatment planning
- Ability to conduct and utilize comprehensive assessments
- Timely and quality documentation; experience with EMR (Epic a plus)
- Eligibility to work in the United States.

- Assist the Physician Director with tasks and policy and procedures of the Department.

- Applies principles of leadership.
- Performance evaluation.
- Team based approach, including full scope of support staff with tenured Psychiatrists, PMHNPs, therapists, crisis intervention team, intensive outreach program, and addiction services.
- Monitor patients’ medication usage, side effects, and results.
- Educate patients and family members about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
